Hackintosh won't update to 10.13.2, just reboots in 10.13.1

So I've tried the AppStore and the Combo update, but both have the same effect: when I hit restart when the download's complete, screen turns black with Apple logo and progress bar, and "Installing Software Update: About 1 Minute". Everything is normal so far. However, the progress bar never goes further than about 1/3rd, then the screen fades to black and the spinning wheel appears, indicating macOS is shutting down. My computer then reboots, and in the Clover menu the "Boot macOS Install from partition" option is there again even though I had removed it following this guide. However if I'm not mistaken, you have to select the regular "Boot macOS from partition" but if I choose so, it just starts in 10.13.1 with the 10.13.2 update pending in the AppStore (I have to redownload it though). If I "Boot macOS Install from partition" it just reboots as usual.

Am I missing something here? This is my first Hackintosh but I built it in September and if I remember correctly, the update to 10.13.1 went without any issues. I've updated my kexts and did everything according to this post on Tonymacx86. Does someone know what causes this behavior or know of a log that I can check to see why the update fails?
