Trouble installing Nvidia WebDrivers for GTX 1070 on High Sierra Fresh Install

This is my first time attempting to create a Hackintosh. I was able to successfully boot through UEFI on USB, install onto my SATA SSD, and install Clover to boot directly from the SSD in my BIOS. However, whenever I install the Nvidia WebDrivers supported for 10.13 and reboot I get kernel panics or looping. I've tried multiple kexts in my Clover partition, multiple boot parameters, installing the drivers with modified security privileges and nothing seems to work. I've spent a good two days in a row banging my head trying to figure out what conditions will allow the OS to boot successfully after installing the drivers but I've had no luck. Have checked out tonymacx86 along with a few other forums but none of their suggestions have worked out.

My current specs are: Skylake 7770K GTX 1070 ASUS Z270-A

If it matters I have an Atheros WiFi NIC in a PCI slot as well. Seen some issues with it during boot in verbose mode but WiFi works. Ethernet works too with injection of kext into Clover. SMBIOS is at 14.2 (though I'm not too sure yet how this matters to the OS/Clover).

Again if it matters I have Ubuntu 16.10 installed alongside Windows 10 on a separate NVME SSD. Those are working fine and have not been impacted.

Any help or pointers would be great. I've had experience tinkering around with Linux but I'm just stuck and frustrated and not too sure what to do next.
