Good article, but as posted some months ago, there are inaccuracies: not all Intel GMA are unsupported. In fact, GMA 950 and GMA X3100 are supported in 32bit mode in all various releases of Snow Leopard and Lion (there now even exists a special hack to support those in ML). These chips were fitted to Apple MacBooks!
GMA 4500MHD drivers have also been developed by a Crew member of OSXLatitude.
