Aloha everyone! I decided to reattempt installing Monterey to my Mac Pro 5,1 today. This time I decided to do a clean install to a brand new SSD hard drive which I thought would be the proper and least problematic way to do it. I had to reinstall the original non metal GPU because the trick I learned to boot from RX580 didn't work. My computer can boot from the USB installer but the installer keeps getting stuck on the black screen with white Apple logo. The only other way I can think of which worked for me last time would be to install Monterey to my original hard drive with Success' href='/2020/12/install-macos-catalina-on-supported-pc.html'>Catalina. I'm also trying to avoid having to restore Success' href='/2020/12/install-macos-catalina-on-supported-pc.html'>Catalina to my hard drive using Time Machine again if Monterey doesn't work. Not sure what to do and how much longer I will continue to pursue this because it's driving me crazy.
