I ran into the root patching error post OCLP 1.5 patcher that Mr. Macintosh covers here:

Just like the video I had auto software updates on and a copy of the Latest Sonoma update was sitting waiting for install that I did not realize. I installed the OCLP 1.5 first but I couldn't do post root patches after. The system was so slow it was almost responsive. However, I just battled through the choppiness and installed the latest Sonoma update. After installing the latest Sonoma Update I ran the root patch and it worked great. Machine functions normal now.
However in the video above Mr. Macintosh is recommending all sorts of complex ways to get around the root patch solution. It feels weird that I was able to just solve this issue so simply whereas Mr. Macintosh had to come up with an elaborate solution.
