Apple logo won't go away even after successful boot

Hi fellas, I'm having a really odd issue with my fresh macOS Catalina installation where I was able to install and everything, I even went through the initial setup (with no QE/CI), but then I followed these guides:

In order to enable full QE/CI acceleration and backlight control on my laptop, which has an Intel i5-8265U CPU, and it actually seems to work fine, it seems to have worked, except that this happens now:

Apple boot screen on top of the desktop

The OS doesn't actually freeze or anything, but I can't interact with the UI and the mouse is basically useless since I can't click stuff, because the Apple logo simply won't go away. But more often, it doesn't even get to the desktop, because the boot screen won't let me log into my account, I was able to get to the desktop in this instance simply because I typed my password and pressed enter to see what would happen, while I only had a cursor and a black screen with the Apple logo showing, like this:

(sorry for the quality of the images)

Any ideas about what's going on? I'm leaving a link to my EFI Folder, the notebook is a Asus Vivobook X512FB, it has a Intel i5-8265U CPU with Intel UHD 620 Graphics and a dedicated Nvidia Geforce MX110 GPU. Thanks in advance folks
