Do I really need NVMeFix.kext?

Hello,

So I was reading the OpenCore Vanilla Guide and came across the Anti-Buyers Guide. In the storage section, it says the following:

For all NVme SSDs, its recommended to use NVMeFix.kext to fix power and energy consumption on these drives

My hack is using a WD Black NVMe PCIe M.2 256GB and is working fine without this kext.

Anyone using this kext on there hacks? I'm hesitant to try coz' I don't currently have a working USB backup and might unable to boot once I install it.
