High Sierra suddenly "Still waiting for root device"

Good morning all.

After 2 years of functioning just fine, my Hackintosh now will not boot properly, only gives me a long Apple loading bar followed by the prohibitory sign. After running verbose, it's hanging up on the "still waiting for root device" error. It's been so long since I configured this system that I barely remember the process - other than that I used Multibeast and use Clover Config for boot. I haven't used a USB boot in years, I only directly boot from my Samsung SSD via SATA. I can still see the SSD in the BIOS when I boot the computer, but I'm afraid to make any changes without advice because I know these can be tricky. The only other boot option currently set is dart=0. Trying to boot into Recovery via Clover gives the same Stop Sign screen.

Specs:

Asrock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3

i5 2500k

GTX 760 4GB

8 GB Ram

480 GB SSD

This issue came seemingly out of nowhere - I have not recently installed any new programs, made any hardware changes, nothing. Used the computer just fine yesterday around lunch, and then when I turned it back on last night around 8, big ole stop sign. Thanks for all advice!
