Is it worth buying a laptop for Hackintosh purposes?

I am an Aerospace Grad student and using 2012 Macbook pro. I have been using it for 7 years with good reliability record. Since it is the time for an upgrade, I narrowed my choice to Razer Blade 15 or 16" Macbook Pro as Blade 15 hardware is compatible with macOS.

With little modification, I can get the Blade 15 to work properly as a capable laptop for daily use. I laid out the prices for both laptops with upgrades. The price difference is about $400 US if I choose 2020 Blade 15 or $660 if I buy 2019 Blade 15.

I have looked into Open-core and Clover guides. It is pretty complex and time consuming. I like the idea of upgrading and tinkering with the OS as I have custom ROMs on my phone.

My difficult situation is that, I have always used macOS and all the apps I run on day to day basis runs fine for me. I don't use CAD tools as I'm into C++ computations. I need a reliable machine for at-least 5+ years.

My question is "IS IT WORTH THE HASSLE" of making an Hackintosh and maintain it throughout the update macOS cycles and the unknown reliability of it?.

I need a second opinion. Thanks
