Mechanical HD failed, switching to SSD, which?

So my old mechanical drive with High Sierra on it failed, I have a backup.

I was thinking of getting a 2tb SSD to switch to. Are there anythings I should look at when comparing these? Is there something that is more or less compatible with OSX, and are there any makers to avoid when using it as a main startup drive?
