I just installed Sonoma on my Macbook Air 6.2 (mid-2013, i7, 8 GB RAM, Intel HD 5000). The install was a bit of a bumpy road since the first attempt froze at "28 minutes remaining", but thankfully the process resumed from where it got stuck after a hard reboot. So far so good things run pretty smoothly, maybe a bit slower than Big Sur despite the fact that I tried to disable all the unnecessary bells and whistles (transparency, widgets, active background, etc.). Now my question is: can I re-enable SIP fully, i.e. uncheck the 3 boxes in the capture above? The documentation is confusing on that topic: "for users who do not plan to boot Monterey, you can re-enable under Patcher Settings" but it also says: "If you're unsure whether you should enable SIP, leave it as-is. Systems where you have already ran the Post Install Root Patching cannot enable SIP without potentially breaking the current install.". Also I read several reports on this sub from users who tried to re-enable SIP and ended-up with having to reinstall. That said, perhaps the question I should have asked first is: should I bother?
