Partition function greyed out.

I recently upgraded to a bigger drive, and I want to increase my macOS partition since it is only 25GB. However, the partition button in disk utility is greyed out when I click on the disk or volume where the OS is. I am dual booting windows. I tried using Gparted in Linux, but I can only move and shrink the partition, not shrink it.
