Anyone else get Final Cut Pro issues with a Ryzentosh?

A search seems to do me no real good, as people claim FCPX *runs* fine but no one seems to really use it..

A bit of background, I have my 'real' Intel-based hackintosh back in my home country. I got trapped in the quarantine in a different country and finally found a good enough deal to hack my way into desktop computing again... only with AMD instead of Intel.

Suffice to say, the whole machine runs like a charm. Even got Adobe to work. But for some reason, my main software--Final Cut Pro X--hardly gives me better performance than my MBP. Sure, it's clear that there is a GPU with some power behind it while scrubbing through video, but some of the waiting and loading times in other bits of functionality are just absolutely unacceptable.

Curious if anyone else has experienced this with a Ryzen set-up, and if you've managed to speed things up somehow. Wondering if maybe I should choose a different SMBIOS?

Relevant specs:

- SMBIOS iMacPro1,1

- Ryzen 5 3600

- ASUS GAMING TUF X570 PLUS

- RX 580

There's no option to turn off 'serial' in the latest BIOS settings (or if there is, I can't find it, even in search), which according to my google fu is the only potential solution.

Thanks for any thoughts!
