Fixing iServices: Dortania guide says "Remove all devices from your AppleID" before trying to add new Hackintosh. Is this really necessary? (and other related questions)

I just got a new Hackintosh booting Mojave 10.14.6 with OpenCore 0.6 and I have a few questions about getting all iCloud account services working.

  1. At https://dortania.github.io/OpenCore-Post-Install/universal/iservices.html#verifying-your-work-one-last-time , it says to clean up old failed attempts at getting services working. It also seems to say, "Remove all devices from your AppleID" before trying to add new Hackintosh. The guide isn't the most clear.

Is this really necessary? Is it very easy to add the devices back? Could doing this mess anything up? Isn't there a limit to how many devices you can remove from or add to one account in a year?

  2. If I also have a genuine iPhone and MBP, what will happen to those? (Like will my iMessage texting still work on my iPhone while it is NOT added to my iCloud devices?)

  3. Also in the guide it says to delete a bunch of things, but I ran into an error trying to delete this. I get this: Solvoids-iMac:~ my_name$ sudo rm -rf ~/Library/Messages rm: /Users/my_name/Library/Messages: Operation not permitted

What is happening? How do I delete Messages?

  4. Assuming I do everything right, is there a certain way I should sign in and try to add the Hack to my account? (Like can I just try to sign into Messages or should I sign into iCloud in System Preferences?)

Thanks
