Black screen crash with clipping audio while watching YT videos

This has been annoying me for the past couple weeks.

As the title says, system crashes to a black screen with clipping audio while watching YT videos. System is unresponsive, cursor disappears and I need to hold down the power button to restart. Its hard to say when exactly it wants to crash, may not happen for days after system start up, could happen 30min after start up. The only thing that I've noticed that is consistent is that it happens while watching YT.

My system specs

  • i9-9900 non-k
  • Asus z370-g m-atx
  • 3000mhz 16gb (8x2) g-skill ram
  • Strix Vega 64
  • Samsung 970 Evo 500GB for boot drive

Running a vanilla install of Mojave using clover v5100

Kexts (all are up to date)

  • AirportBrcmFixup
  • AppleALC
  • BrcmFirmwareData
  • BrcmPatchRAM2
  • IntelMausiEthernet
  • Lilu
  • USBInjectall
  • Vegatab
  • VirtualSMC
  • Whatevergreen

At first I thought it was a problem with my ram, so I swapped out both sticks for known good ram and still crashes. I saw a shikigva bootflag in clover so I removed it, still crashes. Checked boot drive health with driveDX, all drives connected to mobo are good.

I also had a sleepwake error/kernelpanic. This is some of the log:

Stackshot Reason: Sleep transition timed out after 180 seconds while calling power state change callbacks. Suspected bundle: com.apple.iokit.IOGraphicsFamily. Thread 0x1d5.

My iGPU isn't configured to a headless setup, do you this this will help?

Open to any suggestions
