Success and a huge thank you to whomever wrote the Vanilla Haswell guide. (GA-Z97-D3H and )

My previous hackintosh installation (High Sierra using Multi****t- I know) got messed up somehow and became unbootable. So I decided to redo it with Mojave. It started out super smooth (thanks TINU /u/ITzTravelInTime!), but I had been banging my head against the wall for a few days trying to get my plist configured properly (poor performance, no audio devices and basic video), when I finally discovered the Haswell guide. I thought, what the hell, I'm just going to copy everything to the letter. Every other guide that I had found wasn't helping with my issues. So, I figured at this point, if it blows up I'll just redo it.

Well, my mind was freaking blown. When the machine started up, it was fast, the video was working, and the audio devices were all there. Holy sh*t! It was way more than I had hoped for. I'm sure there are things that could be improved, but for now everything seems great and it is running smoothly.

Thank you so much, I'd be happy to buy you some beers or send some money, if possible.

For the curious, my hardware includes:

  • Gigabyte GA-Z97-D3H
  • Intel Core i7 (4th Gen) i7-4790K
  • EVGA GeForce GT 740
  • Ballistix Sport 16GB Kit (8GBx2) DDR3 1600
