Help getting an ASUS X54C-BBK22 running

Hey everyone, I'm trying to get this laptop running with at least Yosemite (10.10), preferably Sierra (10.12). Everything that I've read points to this being plausible. I'm not looking for a miracle, I just want to be able to run and AirMessage server.

To the best of my knowledge this computer contains:

  • Intel Core i3-2370M 2.4GHz 3MB (Sandy Bridge)
  • Intel HD Graphics 3000
  • Some sort of Athros LAN Driver

I've tried following three different guides now, and cannot get to the point of actually booting into the operating system. I can get Clover up and running and can get to one of a few outcomes so far:

  • Kernel Panic (resolved by adding NullCPUPowerManagement kext)
  • "IOConsoleUsers: gIOScreenLockState 3, hs 0, bs 0, now 0, sm 0x0" (tried resolving by adding whatevergreen and lilu kexts, with no luck)
  • "Only ...... slide values are usable" (seems to resolve by rebooting and trying again?)
  • Completely started over with the internet install guide and can't get past "Error loading kernel cache (0x9)" (stuck here now)

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I naively thought this would be much easier than it has been so far.
