Shared volume between Windows and macOS on single SSD

About to start on another Hackintosh build to use as digital audio workstation (DAW), gaming, game dev, and web dev after the X1E I did wasn't providing enough dGPU power.

One thing I'm considering is going with a laptop with a single SSD. The bulk of the data would be DAW related (~1.2TB). I'd like to try to share Kontakt sample libraries between the macOS and Windows partitions along with project files as to prevent redundancy and save space... really the only option with this setup unless I resort to an external TB3 drive which I'd rather not.

Anyway, just curious:

  • What file system to use between the two that is reliable and not slow?
  • Would a third party solution be a better option that can read from Windows to macOS, or vice-versa?

Extraneous BS:

Looking at these three laptops:

  • Razer Blade 15 Advanced (i7-8750H or i7-9750H w/ RTX 2080 FHD)
  • MSI GS65 Stealth (i7-9750H w/ RTX 2080 FHD)
  • Gigabyte Aero 15 XA (new chassis with i7-9750H and RTX 2070 FHD)

The last two have two NVMe m.2 PCIe slots making the install faily easy: I'd just install all my DAW on both volumes.

Although I swore I'd never buy another Razer again after the mess that was my Razer Blade Pro 2016 (i7-6700HQ w/ GTX 1080), the newer Razers have much better reviews--especially better than the other two models I'm looking at--and seems like they got the thermal and noise issues under control in addition to having a higher performing dGPU. It only has one NVMe m.2 PCIe slot though, so I'd need to partition the drive for Windows, macOS, and the shared partition.
