I'm planning on upgrading my current build, a mini ITX i7-8700K, to a full ATX with i9-9900K or i5-9600K processor.
I want the fastest single-core build I can afford (I don't need gaming, video editing...)
I have in mind buying a Asus Rog Maximus XI Hero, good for overclocking and very Hackintosh friendly, but I'm not fully convinced. An Apex model is #2 in GeekBench's top single-core ranking with an out-of-this-world score...
Is any of the top of the line models (Formula, Extreme, Apex...) worth the extra money in my case (9th gen cpu, water cooling)?
