For context, yesterday I installed Pro Tools | First. Pro Tools would freeze and crash when I tried to sign in but other than that, all was fine and I continued to do other things on my computer for a couple hours then I shut it off. Later last night I booted it up again and it seemed fine until I attempted to launch Pro Tools again, it froze again and I decided to force quit it instead of waiting for it to crash.
After that I started getting random system stutters which quickly (within about 5 minutes) evolved into full on 10-30 second freezes between any action, even simply opening the menu to shut down. So after this I did shut it down and attempt to boot it again assuming it would be fine.
But now it takes like 30 minutes for the boot progress bar to fill up and once it does, it just stays there. I’ve left it for 2 hours at the full progress bar and it still wouldn’t boot. Is there anything I can do to fix this or at least recover the data? There’s some projects I’d prefer not to lose on there.
