Using muVariableUefi-64.efi OsxAptioFixDrv-64.efi instead of aptiomemoryfix, have concerns

So I read here using this fix as a work around on z300 boards that don't support native NVRAM can be bad, but they don't say why, does anyone know??? It fixed my shutdown/restart/wake kernel panics so Im happy, just worried as I dont know why its a bad fix.
