She might be small but she bites

Got fed up with Apple and all of their hardware issues lately so I decided to build a Hackintosh for gaming/video editing. Since I'm a international student living in a dorm and I intend to bring this PC back to my country in the summer, I chose the Mini ITX form factor. Chose the hardware config that could bring the least trouble for me, including:

  • Aorus Z390-I mini-ITX mainboard
  • i5-9600K, overclocked to 4.3ghz (I see many people oc-ing this beast to 5ghz but my case is small, wouldn't dare doing that)
  • CPU Cooler: Cooler Master GeminII M4
  • G-skill RIPJAWS 2x8gb DDR4 3200mhz
  • MSI Vega 64 Air Boost
  • 2 WD Blue SSD 250gb (one for Winders and one for Mack)
  • 1 Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7200rpm
  • Case: Cooler Master Elite 130
  • PSU: Corsair CX750M

I then followed u/CorpNewt's Vanilla Install Guide, which can be found here, fix the kernel panic on shutdown and restart with u/cmer's method of using OsxAptioFix2Drv-free2000.efi, remapped the USB ports also according to u/cmer's incredibly easy to understand video, and fixed iMessage. So far, everything is working exactly how I want to, except sometimes my external HDD My Passport 4TB automatically ejects itself after putting the Hack to sleep, and restarting can cause the machine to show statics like those old-timey-TVs, which for now the workaround is by switching off the Hack with the switch on the PSU and switch it on again. I'm also looking forward to going back to my country because I have a spare AR9285 wifi card in my stash, and I will install it in this Hack for Continuity and Handoff.

Happy hacking, everyone.
