Will Airdrop and handoff work with ethernet and bluetooth dongle?

I am currently using ethernet for wifi and nothing for bluetooth. The more I use this Mac alongside my iPhone, the more I want to utilize AirDrop. Will it work if I use ethernet and then a bluetooth dongle?

P.S. Im asking because Im pretty sure AirDrop only uses bluetooth, meaning the wifi of choice wouldn't affect it.
