Tried to log on to mac and would not accept my password. I have not changed the password recently and only have a select few passwords that I use for local use. I am 99% sure that the issue is not an incorrect password being used.
Clicked on the guest user which worked fine but upon restarting this is the only user that now shows and I cannot even get into this as it requires a password.
I have tried booting into recovery and using resetpassword command but my user does not show up on that drive. This apparently happens if you have enabled filevault 2 but I do not remember doing this.
I have seen that you can create a new administrator account that can be used to rectify the old one but I am having trouble booting into single user mode. The keyboard shortcut is not working for me and using the -s flag causes the system to hang with no apparent error message.
Cannot seem to find much information about this online but feels like something may be corrupt?
Running clover on high sierra with APFS enabled.
