Hey I kinda got stuck on this problem, whenever I plug in my HDMI my laptop reboots (probably kp). I thought it was a audio issue so I tried the AppleHDA method but I was not successful so I stuck with voodoohda which is good enough for me. The HDMI port was working perfectly fine on High Sierra but I recently did a clean install of Mojave causing this issue.
