I would like to use an old macbook pro (late 2013 / big sur) as an airplay receiver.
using OCLP I could in theory update it to Ventula to unlock this. However I would like to use a cable to transfer the video (as I work from a hotel with a public hotspot), has anybody done this? on newer macs, you can use a USBC to USBC video cable and it works great for airplay, but there's no USBC connector on this older mac, and I assume a USBC dongle to USBA won't do the trick. So do I use a HDMI to mini DP? or would a cable for video transmission not work?
