Hi,
I'm using a ThinkPad X1 Carbon 2nd Gen and these are the specs:
CPU : Intel Core i7 4550U @ 1.50 GHz
GPU : Intel HD Graphics 5000
Memory : 8GB DDR3
Storage : 256GB Samsung MZNTE256HMHP-000l7
Operating System: macOS Catalina 10.15.7
Audio : Realtek ALC 292 @ Intel Lynx Point-LP PCH
Wifi : Intel Dual Band Wireless-N 7260 BGN 2x2 HMC WiFi Adapter
Bluetooth : Intel Wireless Bluetooth
Ethernet : Intel I218-V
Laptop Model : ThinkPad X1 Carbon 2nd Gen (2014)
Issues:
Basically the only issues I have remaining are Audio (all 6 alcid's don't work perfectly), Display (Brightness), Keyboard (Caps Lock does not work), Camera and Sleep. So far these are the only issues I could find, I'm sure I have more. Also I still have to switch from Debug to Release.
- For Audio, I tried all 6 alcid's for my thing (ALC292) and none of them are perfect.
alcid=12: Speaker Works but Headphones have static
alcid=15: Speaker Works (best speaker audio) but Headphones don't (currently using)
alcid=18: Speaker doesn't work and Headphones have static
alcid=28: Speaker Works but Headphones have static
alcid=32: Speaker works but Headphones don't
alcid=55: Speaker Works but Headphones have static (also initializes late, like a couple minutes late)
- For Display, my brightness keys don't work. This has a Touch Bar thingy and the brightness buttons don't work but volume does. I tried different SSDT-PNLF's but none of them worked.
Adaptive Keys thing. I can change between F1-F12 and this mode where I can adjust Volume and Brightness.
- For Keyboard, Caps Lock does not work. The thing has a weird keyboard layout where the escape key is next to the lower right ctrl.
I have the same keyboard except the Escape and Tilda Key are switched. Caps Lock is triggered by pressing the left shift key twice.
- Camera isn't detected in macOS and so doesn't work
- Sleep does not work. If it automatically goes to sleep it won't wake up and if I close the lid or click sleep from the macOS, it doesn't sleep, just turns the display off. I've tried everything but tbh I think the display is the issue here. I may be wrong.
Thanks. Have a nice day :)
