I upgraded my (flashed) 5,1 from Mojave the other day & Big Sur feels sluggish AF. 0.6.9 Clover... I turned SIP off and didn't change, or do anything in the configurator.
Decent 12-core 3.46 machine with 96GB RAM, Radeon 580RX, Evo 860 SSD on PCI card, wired mouse & keyboard. Three monitors – 4K LG & two Dell HDMI. Ran fine on Mojave... I also created another SSD with Catalina. same sluggishness – UI and mouse feel wonky, typing in some apps feels delayed, Chrome feels laggy. Adobe Illustrator is unpleasant to use & Photoshop UI flickers at times. No changes if I use the 4K monitor only.
I have another machine 32GB 6-core SSD 540RX & the computer UI feels much snappier overall. One 27" Cinema Display only.
Ideas or tips anyone before I go back to Mojave? Much appreciated!
