Recent Clover Updates causing long "scanning entries..." delay on boot

Hi. I was not successful in converting to OpenCore in my last few attempts, so I am still on Clover and using it to boot just fine into 10.15.5 without OS issues... it has been faithful to me for a few years now, but the recent updates r5118 & r5119 have both caused this weird issue where the "...scanning entries..." boot screen takes 5 to 6 times longer than r5107 did (which is what I have on a backup USB key for recovering from boot failures).

I have been looking and trying to figure this out for a few hours now, but as of this post I have decided to just update the kexts on r5107 and transfer that to my EFI boot partition and just boot with that (no backup USB key required now).

I've tried transferring the r5107 EFI folder to the boot partition and updating to r5118 and r5119 after successfully booting into r5107 to see if maybe the update just didn't finish properly- but it did, and I get the same result.

So I don't know what is new in r5118/r5119 that is causing this to happen now.

• kext all up to date and the same in all versions tested (I don't really need many)

• drivers/UEFI folders the same in all versions test

• UEFIshell boots fine in all versions tested

• flushed NVRam settings

• Checked Bootlogs, they look identical.

• Checked EFI entries in EasyUEFI in windows 10... nothing out of the ordinary.

Anyone know where I can check? I do have some odd "VenMedia" and various other UEFI entries that don't show up in EasyUEFI but they do in the shell listings... but I don't wanna tinker there too much, lest I break it indefinitely.

thoughts on the "scanning entries" delay?
