OpenCore 0.5.7 Catalina boots to black screen when using iGPU UHD 630

Hi, everyone! I followed a tutorial on YouTube that matched my Asus ROG Strix z390E motherboard to get Catalina 10.15.5 installed.

Everything installed perfectly and I am able to boot in via HDMI from my Nvidia 2060 RTX (I know these cards are no longer supported since High Sierra). The problem is if I try to boot in via my motherboards HDMI, the OpenCore bootloader does it's thing, but as soon/right before I am brought to the login screen, I get signal lost and a black screen and have to power down. But I can boot in and see the OS via my dGPU with 8mb so I can edit settings etc.

I first tried following the guide on https://dortania.github.io/OpenCore-Desktop-Guide/extras/gpu-patches.html and applying the frame buffer patches and adjusting the platform ids to what is mentioned to the guide but to no avail, I still get a black screen when booting up from the motherboard HDMI port. I read on another post here to try setting my SMBIOS to iMac 19.2. I tried that with OpenCore Configurator but I still get a black screen.

My system hardware:

  • CPU: i7 9700k
  • GPU: (Nvidia 2060 RTX plugged in, but have my iGPU enabled via my bios since Nvidia is not supported)
  • Motherboard: Asus ROG Strix z390E
  • RAM: 32GB Corsair Vengeance PRO
  • SSD: Silicon Power 256GB
  • Install method: OpenCore 0.5.7 as per a YouTube tutorial by Technolli with Catalina 10.15.5

I am sorry if I am leaving anything out, this is my first time trying to get a Hackintosh up and running and I appreciate any assistance in enabling the UHD 630 graphics on my CPU so I could get accelerated graphics. If you need anymore information I will be glad to provide it! It seems to be difficult to find the right info for OpenCore vs Clover buy OC was the only thing that would actually get to the OSX Installer for me.
