Should I install MacOS on a new partition / SSD?

Very new to MacOS and hackintosh, so any help would be appreciated.

I'm looking for a no-fuss method to keep the MacOS as far from my Windows as possible. Is it sufficient to put MacOS on a new partition or is there a benefit to using a new SSD altogether?

Also, a side / add-on question (basically almost the same). If I want to triple-boot Ubuntu, would there be a benefit to buying a 3rd SSD? Or should I just put Windows on one drive, then Hackintosh and Ubuntu on another?

Worth noting that I still mainly use Windows , I just wanted to try out MacOS without the exorbitant prices. As for Ubuntu, it's free so why not.
