Can anyone recommend a good Mac-compatible SATA PCIe Card?

I current have an H270m board with 6 SATA ports and an M.2 slot. The M.2 slot is used for a Mojave backup/testing drive. Due to chipset issues I am using 5 of the 6 SATA ports. One is for my MacOS SSD, another for my MacOS Backup drive (larger, regular HDD for more storage). I use another SSD for Windows 10, and I have two other SATA ports used up for two windows HDDs for Steam games and other storage.

I'm also using an outdated SYBA 2-port PCIe card which shows up in Windows but has no Mac drivers. Seems some older card have them while others do not, and I'm taking my time going through eBay listings to check for current drivers. Is anyone using a PCIe SATA card for additional hard rives for use with their Mac? It seems cheaper this way than to have to buy a 2 TB or larger hard drive and combine the smaller ones (plus it makes for better insurance as one drive fails and data on the other won't be lost). I also have a HighPoint Rocket Raid 40046, but that seemed to have stopped working with Mac a while back ago, at least on my older Gigabyte Z68AP-D3 board.

Are some brands better than others? I'm seeing a lot of ads for SSU-tech but their website is completely in Chinese (although I did find the link to download Windows drivers). Are some better than others when it comes to drivers? I don't want to setup a RAID configuration ,but rather just have a separate means for additional hard drives. I understand that with this will mean I'll need extra power. Would it be safe to use 4-pin Molex-to-SATA connectors for the SSDs and use the tree of SATA connectors on the modular power supply for regular HDDs? I ask because I know those Molex-to-SATA connectors have a bad fire hazard reputation.
