It’s taken a week but I finally got my 2010 Mac Pro all put together on Ventura. I had to replace two bad drives in the process. Circa 2010 so it’s time ;) and I learned that disk repair can repair a TM disk that’s corrupted. But I also learned that restoring a user account with migration from HFS to APFS does very bad things to the APFS so it won’t boot or recover. I had to blow it away and start over. The good news is I had a TM from the fresh Ventura install so it’s all good now. And I was able to get my data off the old TM back up. So now it’s all good. And I’m wondering if I should move up to the next gen OSX. There seems to be a mixed story about the 2010 Mac pros and anything newer than Ventura which is why I started here. Oh yeah. I’m upgrading the WiFi card Ina few days to a better supported card. If do upgrade, is there a FAQ on how? I just read that one can upgrade the boot code and then just upgrade like a normal Mac. True? Thanks
