I was install MacOS High Sierra on VMware and it worked fine until the installation screen the Mouse cursor was not moving at all and the keyboard wasn’t working

I want to buy i5 2400s version with 128gb ssd and 8gb ram and 512mb amd 6770m graphics

I use it as a second computer to watch tutorial videos, open lots of google chrome tabs and do some web programming.

Please don't tell me to buy a higher model because I don't have the money

Please guide me completely, can it be used without problems? , and I would be happy if you share any experience with me because I really need it

i got tired of the lag caused by updating to monterrey and decided to do a factory reset on my 2010 macbook pro and now upon startup i receive a 🚫 symbol and if i use the cmnd keys im able to get to the recovery options like time machine , install high sierra etc , but none of them work . it also says says under utilities there’s no startup disk but it was working up until the reset . i’m looking into a bootable usb install of sierra but if you guys know any other ways around this or have had this happen and fixed it let me know please :)

I was trying to get MacOs Monterey to work on my HP EliteBook Folio 1040, which has an i5-5200U with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, but I kept getting problems and wanted to ask if anyone knew how to do it gets it running.

My late 2008 MacBook is running Monterey just fine but am planning for the next step when Apple stops updating it. I was wondering if anyone has done this and what they have experienced?

i would prefer dual boot with linux if setting up bootloader with it is not a big fuss or use hackintosh temporarily to just fix other macbook pro.. but i am open to possibility if i setup nvidia drivers properly yo use it as my main driver for graphic design in adobe programs and ditch windows alltogether..

Give me basic advice, i also have some working motorola powermacs that i want to thinker with and put ssd and more updated linux on top just for fun, same goes for macbook pro that is currently bricked...

I'm using https://github.com/5T33Z0/Thinkpad-T490-Hackintosh-OpenCore to install macOS Sonoma and I'm running into a problem with finishing the installation.

I can boot from the USB, I can format the disk, I can connect to my WIFI network and start the installation. It takes a while, then the laptop reboots and bring me back to the installer menu with the usual options to restore from time machine, reinstall macos sonoma etc..

Instead of completing the installation (I think it should reboot a couple of times and resume the process all by itself) I can only restart the installation over and over.

I think I did everything right in regard to BIOS settings in my T490, I followed the instructions on the page above. Should I set the BIOS to always boot from the USB?

As for editing plist, again I followed the instructions on that T490 repo, I'm only unsure about this step:

Generate MLB, Serial and ROM for MacBookPro15,2 using GenSMBIOS or OCAT.

I'm using GenSMBIOS, I load my config.plist and do:

3. Generate SMBIOS

4. Generate UUID

5. Generate ROM

But then when I try

6. List Current SMBIOS

it always returns empty info...

Another thing I don't understand is why Windows always shows up in the OpenCore initial menu, I formatted the disk, should be empty now...

Any ideas?

Heard that it's possible to use OCLP, but since my cpu doesn't have dedicated graphics, is it gonna work ?

I have no idea where the errors are in this log. My Ventura install worked perfectly fine. I'm installed Sonoma 14.4 and swapped in the new AirportItlwm.kext file, and the installer just won't boot. It ran before perfectly fine, I'm at a loss.

Hey guys, how are you? So, I currently have a rx580 2048sp (those that you can find on AliExpress for cheap), but I’m rocking a rx570 bios so that macOS recognizes it.

In the last few days, I’ve returned a little to gaming on my windows boot, and I’m not sure how using a different bios tanks the performance on my gpu.

Long story short, has anyone fake id one of those gpu? Does it work? What id should I use?

Soooo, I was attempting to upgrade to the latest Opencore vs 1.4.3 and Sanoma over the weekend with my goal to move my OS over to the M.2 on my Macfiver card. Well, no matter what I tried I could NOT get my Mac Pro to show the EFI boot option. BTW I have a 5,1.

I tried all the tricks, clearing VRAM, hard reset, etc. After a day long session of banging on this thing I finally decided to remove the Macfiver card and bingo that did the trick! I guess there's some logic in the Mac firmware that just doesn't like the Macfiver (possibly the M.2) which disables EFI.

Sadly, had to install to the SATA/SSD instead.

Or is it possible to install macOS on usb drive?

I'm reaching out for guidance on improving my Mac setup for building an iOS application from my React Native project. I've successfully used ultimate-macOS-KVM to run Sonoma and build the app, but the simulator performance is painfully slow.

My laptop specs include a GTX 1650, 16 cores (dual-threaded), and 24GB RAM. I'm wondering if installing a standalone Mac setup on my laptop would significantly improve performance compared to the current QEMU setup (8 cores and 16GB RAM).

Any advice or suggestions on how to optimize my setup for better performance would be greatly appreciated!

I managed to install Sonoma on a iMac 2015 and it all worked fine... except VMware Fusion, which I really have to use on a daily basis.

So, I went back to Monterey. No big deal.

But... Somehow OpenCore is still on my iMac:

• After the startup chimes, I get a menu for a few seconds and then Monterey boots up. It's kind of annoying, but I can live with that.

• Thing is, I'm still receiving notifications to upgrade to Sonoma every time Apple releases a new version. Somehow, OpenCore persists.

Is there any way to get rid of this without reformatting the whole computer?

Any info would be appreciated.

it's my first hackintosh, it runs Sonoma 14.5 and oc 1.0.0. Bluetooth and Wi-Fi both work, even AirDrop worked once (My pc doesnt discover any airdrop devices, but I was once able to discover my pc on the networrk and airdrop it a photo, but it was only one time, now it doesnt even appear on my iphone), subsequently no Continuity and Handoff. I for once thought it was the AirDrop channel, which some people with this card had issues with, but it’s not the case for me, in system report it’s up and running on channel 149.

I also have some trouble with my Wi-Fi as in macOS it doesn’t reach speeds nearly as high as in Windows (dualboot), it’s txrate in Mac peaks at about 434mbps and drops to almost twice as low. It also sometimes disconnects? WiFi itself is connected in the system but I get no internet and have to turn it off and on. I’m new here so tell me if I need to provide any files

Hello i dont know whatever this question is related to hackintosh or dual boot linux and windows in general.

My fingerprint sensor is working absolutely fine when i boot window first and then restart laptop to window again.

But when i boot to hackintosh first and then restart laptop to windows its not working on the login page, but when I log with pin or password and lock laptop, its again working without problems.

I found some threads regarding dual boot widnows and linux but they were about fingerprint set up i linux correctly and not working in windows at all.

My just dont work at first login after reboot from hacintosh .

Is there any thing that i can do about this ?

I'm currently on macOS Sonoma 14.4.1. Just update OpenCore to 1.0.0 and since macOS Sonoma 14.5 is out. I thought of updating macOS too but I don't receive update notifications. Even after installing RestrictEvents kext and adding "revpatch=sbvmm" to boot-args. I'm out of options. So if anyone has an idea ?

i dont see anything wrong with this as i can simply install all 3 os on 3 different partitions but i just wanted to ask people who actually know what they are talking about to see if its possible because ive got extra laptops with the right internals for a mackintosh and i thought it would be extremely useful to test my programs on all 3 big OS

I was curious if there was a safe and straight forward way to update from 14.2.1 to 14.5. My computer I purchased online came with dualboot windows and macos 14.2.1

I have a fully functional Ventura install on an old Acer Nitro 5, less the GTX 1050 (disabled). After several unsuccessful attempts at installing MacOS Sonoma it seems 14.5 simply isn’t supported by the available kernel extensions yet (specifically AirportItlwm). There are releases for 14.0 and 14.4, is there a way to update to either of these versions and not 14.5? Using SMBIOS for MacBookPro16,4 so that shouldn’t be an issue.

I have already have Ventura 13.6.7 set up, and managed to create another partition to try Sonoma 14.5. Ventura works flawlessly (minus any overdoing in the config.plist).

1. I can install Sonoma with the attached information below (takes app. 10-15 minutes from USB)
2. It reboots to the 2nd part of the process of the Installer in to the Disc (app. 25 minutes)
3. Followed by the upcoming reboot, where it just reboots due to a failure after 10-15 seconds.

I cant for the life of me figure how to make the OC Log file readable, it's 256KB but only a 100 lines are readable, so im not sure how much meaningful logs i can share.

I've been following two github repos regarding building this, most of their work has been reversed engineer (and borrowed) to get it to work...with Ventura at least. Of course the ground work was the Dortania guide, adapting to the changes needed for Sonoma.

Hello everyone in this community, i'm new here, during my hackintosh process i saw that newer NVIDIA GPU'S weren't compatible with macOS at all, and i researched more and i saw that my GPU is an Ampere version in OpenCore, can someone tell me if there are going to exist drivers to the 3rd gen of NVIDIA'S GPU and if the answer is yes, when?

Got a MacBook Air mid 2013 that Ive been tinkering around with. Thanks to OCLP, it was able to upgrade to Sonoma. However since I will be moving soon to a place with less space believe its time to part ways :(

Planning to sell it to a third party retailer that takes old electronics.

Are there any specific steps I should take before I trade in? Maybe to make it easier for it's new owner, is there a way for me to revert back to a pre-OCLP state? Will "Erase All Content and Settings" accomplish this or would it brick it?
