What steps do I need to take before upgrading to Big Sur

Running a Success' href='/2020/12/install-macos-catalina-on-supported-pc.html'>Catalina system with o.c. 0.6.2

Can I upgrade the system from system update or do I need to download a new image and reinstall everything again?
