Resolving "Couldn't alloc class 'AppleKeyStoreTest'" Error During macOS Ventura Installation on Hackintosh

SOLUTIONS:

Target Audience: Intermediate to Advanced Hackintosh Users

Solution Overview:

The "Couldn't alloc class 'AppleKeyStoreTest'" error during the macOS Ventura installation on Hackintosh typically indicates issues related to EFI configuration or incompatible kexts. This guide aims to address these issues to enable a successful boot into the macOS Ventura installer.

Step-by-Step Guide:

  1. Backup Current EFI Folder:

    • Before making any changes, backup your current EFI folder. This allows you to revert if needed.
  2. Clean Up EFI Folder:

    • Start by cleaning up your EFI folder. Remove any unnecessary or outdated kexts, drivers, and configuration files.
    • Ensure the EFI folder contains only what is necessary for booting macOS Ventura.
  3. Update Bootloader:

    • Ensure you are using the latest version of your bootloader (Clover or OpenCore).
    • An outdated bootloader can cause compatibility issues with newer macOS versions.
  4. Update Kexts:

    • Update all kexts to their latest versions. Essential kexts include VirtualSMC (or FakeSMC), Lilu, WhateverGreen, and appropriate network and audio kexts.
    • Use a tool like Kext Updater to ensure you have the latest versions.
  5. Check Config.plist:

    • Review your config.plist file for any incorrect or outdated settings.
    • Use a configuration checker tool like OpenCore Configurator or ProperTree to validate your configuration.
  6. Verify SMBIOS Settings:

    • Ensure your SMBIOS settings match a compatible Mac model for Ventura.
    • Use a tool like GenSMBIOS to generate appropriate SMBIOS information.
  7. Disable Unused Devices in BIOS:

    • Enter your PC’s BIOS and disable any hardware not used (e.g., serial ports, unused SATA controllers).
    • This can prevent hardware conflicts during installation.
  8. Check RAM Allocation:

    • The "Couldn't alloc class" error can sometimes be related to memory allocation issues.
    • Ensure your system has sufficient RAM and that it is correctly configured in BIOS.
  9. Boot in Verbose Mode:

    • Boot the installer in verbose mode (usually by adding -v to the boot arguments) to see more detailed error messages.
    • Look for any messages that appear before the error for clues.
  10. Seek Community Support:

    • If the problem persists, consider sharing your EFI folder and verbose mode output on Hackintosh forums for community support.

Additional Tips:

  • One Change at a Time: Make one change at a time and test. This makes it easier to identify what resolves the issue.
  • Document Changes: Keep track of any changes you make for easy reference.

Hello all, I've been struggling to boot the installer of macos for a week now.
I must've tried all the guides but I cant seem to get this to work.
The current EFI is a mess but its the one that takes me farthest down the line.
I have attached my EFI folder.
Please if someone has the slightest ideea of what to do next, I'd really appreaciate-it. Cheers!
