Hackintosh Guide: Installing macOS Ventura on a Ryzen-Based PC

Guide:

  1. Hardware Compatibility Check:

    • Ensure your hardware is compatible with macOS Ventura. The MSI B450 Mortar Max, Ryzen 7 3700X, and MSI RX 5600 XT are known to work, but verify other components like network and audio.
  2. Create a macOS Ventura Bootable USB:

    • Download the macOS Ventura image from the App Store on a real Mac or an existing Hackintosh.
    • Use a tool like Balena Etcher to create a bootable USB drive.
  3. BIOS Settings:

    • Access the BIOS on your MSI B450 Mortar Max.
    • Disable CSM and Secure Boot.
    • Enable XHCI Hand-off and set the SATA mode to AHCI.
  4. Prepare the EFI Partition:

    • Mount the EFI partition of your USB drive.
    • Add necessary kexts (kernel extensions) and drivers, specifically those for Ryzen CPUs and your RX 5600 XT GPU.
  5. Install macOS Ventura:

    • Boot from the USB drive.
    • Format your target drive using Disk Utility (APFS format recommended).
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to install macOS Ventura.
  6. Post-Installation Setup:

    • Install Clover or OpenCore as your bootloader.
    • Copy the EFI folder from your USB to the EFI partition of your system drive.
    • Install necessary kexts and drivers for full functionality (audio, network, etc.).
  7. Troubleshooting:

    • If you encounter issues, refer to online forums or specific guides related to your hardware.
  8. Final Touches:

    • Set up your user account and preferences.
    • Update to the latest patches if available.

Note: This guide is a basic outline. Depending on your system, additional steps or different configurations might be necessary. Always back up your data before proceeding with any installation.

As for the config.plist, it is not provided here due to the unique nature of each Hackintosh build. You'll need to create or modify this file based on your specific hardware and the version of macOS you're installing. Use Clover Configurator or a similar tool to edit your config.plist according to the needs of your system.
