Fixing Intel Bluetooth Issue in macOS Sonoma on X570 AORUS PRO WIFI

Guide:

Introduction

If you've recently updated to macOS Sonoma and are facing issues with Intel Bluetooth on your X570 AORUS PRO WIFI motherboard, you're not alone. In this guide, we'll help you troubleshoot and resolve the problem to get your Intel Bluetooth working seamlessly again.

Prerequisites

Before we begin, ensure you have the following kexts installed and updated to the latest versions:

  1. IntelBTPatcher.kext (version 2.3.0)
  2. IntelBluetoothFirmware.kext (version 2.3.0)
  3. BlueToolFixup.kext (version 2.6.8)
  4. Airportltlwm.kext (version 2.3.0)

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Verify Kexts: Double-check that you have the correct kexts installed in your EFI partition or macOS system folder. Download and install the latest versions if necessary.

  2. Check Kernel Extensions: Ensure that these kexts are properly injected in your config.plist file if you're using OpenCore or Clover. Verify that they load during boot by inspecting your system logs.

  3. Generate Proper SSDT: Generate a custom SSDT for your motherboard using SSDTTime or another appropriate tool. Ensure that the SSDT includes necessary patches and configurations for Intel Bluetooth.

  4. EFI Update: If you're using OpenCore or Clover for your Hackintosh, make sure your EFI folder is up to date with the latest configurations and drivers.

  5. Bluetooth Settings: In macOS, navigate to System Preferences > Bluetooth. Make sure that Bluetooth is enabled and that your device is discoverable. Attempt to pair your Bluetooth devices if they aren't already paired.

EFI Code

Here's an EFI code guide that includes the necessary kexts and configurations for Intel Bluetooth on your X570 AORUS PRO WIFI motherboard. You can download and use this as a reference or directly copy it to your EFI partition.

Creating a complete EFI folder tailored to your specific hardware setup is a detailed process, and it's not possible to provide an entire EFI folder in a text response. However, I can guide you through the steps to create one for your X570 AORUS PRO WIFI motherboard with Intel Bluetooth.

Note: Please ensure you have a backup of your existing EFI folder and important data before making any changes to your system.

Follow these steps:

  1. Download the Necessary Kexts:

    • Ensure you have the latest versions of the following kexts:
      • IntelBTPatcher.kext
      • IntelBluetoothFirmware.kext
      • BlueToolFixup.kext
      • Airportltlwm.kext
  2. SSDT Generation:

    • Use SSDTTime or other appropriate tools to generate a custom SSDT for your motherboard. This SSDT should include the necessary ACPI patches and configurations for Intel Bluetooth.
  3. EFI Folder Structure:

    • Create a new EFI folder on your macOS drive if you don't have one already.
    • Inside the EFI folder, create the following directory structure:
      • EFI/
        • OC/ (if using OpenCore) or CLOVER/ (if using Clover)
          • Kexts/
            • Place the downloaded kexts here.
          • ACPI/
            • Place your custom SSDT here.
          • config.plist
            • Configure your bootloader (OpenCore or Clover) settings and include the appropriate kexts, SSDT, and configuration for your hardware.
  4. Bootloader Configuration:

    • Depending on whether you're using OpenCore or Clover, configure the bootloader settings in the config.plist file. Ensure that you inject the kexts and SSDT correctly.
  5. Testing and Debugging:

    • Boot your system using the newly created EFI folder.
    • Verify if Intel Bluetooth is working as expected.

Creating a custom EFI folder requires attention to detail, and you may need to iterate and fine-tune your configurations. Be prepared to troubleshoot and make adjustments as needed.

I recommend referring to Hackintosh community forums or guides specific to your motherboard model for additional guidance and support during this process.

Conclusion

By following these troubleshooting steps and ensuring your kexts, SSDT, and EFI configurations are correct, you should be able to resolve the Intel Bluetooth issue in macOS Sonoma on your X570 AORUS PRO WIFI motherboard.

If you continue to face issues, consider seeking assistance from the Hackintosh community forums or seeking guidance from experts who have experience with your specific hardware setup. With persistence and the right configurations, you can enjoy a fully functional Hackintosh system on macOS Sonoma.

Intel Bluetooth worked in Ventura... but not in Sonoma

I have an X570 AORUS PRO WIFI motherboard with built-in bluetooth (Intel® WiFi 6 802.11ax 2T2R & BT 5) that i was able to pass thru and get working on Monterey and Ventura using IntelBTPatcher.kext (version 2.3.0), IntelBluetoothFirmware.kext (version 2.3.0), BlueToolFixup.kext (version 2.6.8) and Airportltlwm.kext (version 2.3.0)

Worked great in Ventura but after updating to Sonoma, it doesn't work (everything else works great btw)

I've googled for a day straight and found all the articles that talk about making sure the above 4 kexts are installed and updated and that it should work.

Wifi is working great so i think it's something simple i'm missing!

any help would be appreciated!

  1. Can you please provide the download link for this EFI? I have been trying a lot to make a successful HPintosh, yet alone the same model as yours.
