So, I'm currently running Catalina on my Hackintosh system with he following specs:
- AMD Ryzen 7 3700x
- 32GB DDR4
- Sapphire RX480
- Gigabyte B450M DS3H Motherboard
System runs fine (other than not being able to get iCloud/etc working, but I'm not super worried about that, honestly.
My question is this: I'm trying to upgrade to Big Sur, and when I do, I'm able to download the installer but when it runs (currently), it hangs on the Apple logo screen when it reboots after downloading.
I'm thinking about just doing a fresh install of BS on my system, but I didn't know if there was anything specific I needed to do with my EFI (since the system DOES work in its current state).
So...I guess my question(s) are...why am I unable to seemingly use Software Update to get from Catalina to Big Sur, and...if that's an issue, what things do I need to do in order to "upgrade" via a completely fresh installation, since I have a functional EFI?
