Hackintool tells me I have QE/CI, my dock/menubar are translucid, but widgets show no ripple. Why?

Followed this guide to a t https://hackintosher.com/guides/properly-install-nvidia-drivers-high-sierra-10-13/

Using a GTX750 on this build with a kaby lake configured as headless as mentioned here https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/an-idiots-guide-to-lilu-and-its-plug-ins.260063/ and Hackintool shows the headless icon correctly with the correct info based on the correct SMBIOS model for this build.

Am using the Lilu/WhateverGreen.kexts and everything works just fine afaik.

The reason why I have no ripples on adding widgets to the dashboard may also be the reason why my Obsidian (eletron app) crashes when I select translucent window

The first link says:

If you are using a Coffee Lake or Kaby Lake processor and using High Sierra or Sierra 10.12.4 you should change the ig-platform-id to prevent crashing when using programs like FCPX.

Open config.plist in Clover Configurator

Click Graphics on the left-side Column

Type 0x59120003 for the ig-platform-id box

Save config.plist Restart

Also did that and no, nothing, the app still crashes and widgets show no ripple. It's like things are working, but not quite.

What am I doing wrong?
