Big Sur with OC: Still waiting for boot device

Hello,

I'm hopeless now. I'm facing this common issue but can't find a way to resolve it.

I follow the OpenCore guide to install Big Sur on l'y desktop. When I boot on the USB key I get normal log output and then "Still waiting for root device" and then text became scrambled with the prohibit sign.

I only have Linux to create the USB key, I have tried both methods from OC guide, none work.

I have tried:

  • Kernel -> Quirks -> XhciPortLimit -> True
  • UEFI -> Quirks -> ReleaseUsbOwnership -> True
  • try all USB ports (2.0 and 3.0 and 3.1)
  • USBInjectAll
  • Multiple USB keys, 2.0 and 3.0

Nothing work.

My hardware is:

  • MSI Z170-A Pro Gaming Carbon
  • i5-6500 (Skylake)
  • Radeon RX580
  • 24GB Ram DDR4
  • Kingston 120 GB SSD

Any help will be appreciated. I search a lot on the internet but cannot find any trick to get it working.

Thank you in advance.
