There has to be a catch about Apple M1 benchmarks

Alright,

so I have my hackintosh laptop running Big Surveillance, with 2 fans, beefy heatsink and an i7-8550u (nothing to brag about but it's and i7, that means top of the line), which came out Q3 2017. I ran geekbench and what do you know, Apple M1 is TWO TIME FASTER in single and dual core. How tf can it be this good? Macbook Air has no active cooling and can achieve this?

If there no some magic Geekbench faking going on, double the speed in 3 years is pretty amazing, have we ever seen this kind of leap before?

Oh and don't start talking about battery life.

What are your thoughts about this?
