OpenCore - Issues booting without USB

System specs:

Core i7-9700 (Coffee Lake)

Gigabyte Z390i Aorus pro wifi

32 GB G.skill Ripjaws RAM

Sapphire PULSE RX580 8 GB

Samsung 970 EVO SSD

Installed using OpenCore

I've successfully installed Catalina, but I can't seem to get it to boot without the USB installer. The motherboard doesn't recognize it as a boot option. I've been working from Dortania's guide. I searched for people having similar issues, but only found one.

I mounted the EFI partition using MountEFI, and it appeared to be empty. I copied over the contents of my installer's EFI partition, no luck. The system doesn't boot, and simply opens the bios.

I booted linux from a usb drive and checked the boot table using efibootmgr. I set up a boot entry as per ConfusedTapeWorm's post. Now I have a boot table entry that is recognized by the bios. The system still doesn't boot without USB support, and simply returns to the BIOS. How I set it up:

EFI partition: nvme0n1p1 PARTUUID="86c66907-1300-42b5-a3fa-le0be662574f" efibootmgr -c -L "BearCave" -l "\EFI\BOOT\BOOTx64.efi" -d /dev/nvme0n1 -p 1 -u root=PARTUUID=86c66907-1300-42b5-a3fa-le0be662574f

Anyone else run into this issue? Any advice?
