This may be a bit funny question, as this config is really outdated, but I'd still like to try running a newer macOS than my current one (Sierra), for another year or so, until I switch to a real mac. My main need to upgrade the OS is because of some of the apps requiring at least Mojave.
I'd even try Big Sur once it's out. 😂
The full specs of my config:
CPU: Intel Xeon X5460 3.18Ghz
Motherboard: Asus P5k Pro (LGA775)
RAM: 6GB DDR2 800Mhz (might add +2 GB)
GPU: Radeon RX560
SSD: 120GB, +1TB HDD
I'm aware that my CPU is missing the SSE 4.2 support, however the OpenCore guide (which I'd like to use) says that there's a workaround for this issue, with an SSE 4.2 emulation kext for newer AMD graphics cards, and a telemetrap.kext, to fix the issue with the new apple telemetry plugin compatibility.
So the question is: Should I keep my hopes up that this config can handle Catalina / Big Sur, or not? 😅
Thanks in advance!
