I want to re-install macOS to change the SMBIOS, do I need to remap my ports?

So I want the Apple TV app working and I found on many different forums that a quick solution is to change the SMBIOS. I want to do a clean install, even if it’s not necessary for this specific process of changing tb SMBIOS, because I need to change the drive anyway, and I saw a few people saying they would have to remap their ports, etc... is it true ?? :O
