Anyone know a lot about the technical side of adobe premiere?

I use my hackintosh mainly for video editing in adobe premiere and lately it's been running extremely slow, which I just don't understand. I use 4k 100mb/s Sony A7R3 footage and have lately been making proxies, but not even that has fixed the problem. I suspect it might be something wrongly configured on the hackintosh side, so I'm asking on here.

Here is my post with info on the hack. https://www.reddit.com/r/hackintosh/comments/hiqylg/hackintosh_20_succes

Edit: Since making the post I've added a 12tb IronWolf hard drive for storing footage, but I edit off of a Lacie Rugged 2tb usb 3.1 drive. If something as simple as a faster drive could help I don't have a problem buying an extra ssd.

I don't really understand the problem since my computer should be powerful enough to run premiere and edit a 4k timeline. Hope to be able to solve this; it's making editing my current project hell.
