Guide: Installing Hackintosh on HP Prodesk 400 G4 SFF Using OpenCore

Target Audience: Intermediate

Preparation:

  • Check compatibility: Ensure your HP Prodesk 400 G4 SFF matches the specifications (Intel Core i5-7500, 16GB DDR4 RAM, 120GB Samsung 840 EVO SSD, Intel HD Graphics 620, Realtek RTL8111G network, Conexant CX20632 audio codec).
  • Backup data: Always back up your data before proceeding with installation.

Installation Steps:

  • Create a Bootable Installer:
    • Download macOS Catalina 10.15.6.
    • Prepare a USB drive (16GB or larger) and create a bootable macOS installer using a tool like BalenaEtcher.
  • Download and Prepare EFI Folder:
    • Download the EFI folder specific to HP Prodesk 400 G4 SFF from this link.
    • Copy the EFI folder to the EFI partition of your bootable USB drive.
  • BIOS Settings:
    • Disable Secure Boot.
    • Enable UEFI mode.
    • Set SATA to AHCI mode.
