iPadOS 14 beta 3, Big Sur beta 3 and Hackintosh

Keeping my Razer Blade Pro 17 inch from 2017 on High Sierra as a base system I have Catalina running on my Dell E7440 well enough to be a backup Mac, so use my 2014 MacBook Pro 15 inch to experiment. Also keep the 13 inch MacBook Pro rebuild from 2013 as a backup to the Hackintosh systems. Anyway, older systems like the MacBook Pro do have some use when playing with supported OSs. Big Sur beta 3 took some time to install properly and ended up using the Hackintosh to make a boot USB to install it on the supported Apple system. Go figure. After playing with it I can see some of the advantages Apple is proposing with macOS 11. Since I am planning to finally get back into an Apple system in about 2 years after more use from the Razer Hackintosh (and time to save up some money), iPad OS 13.5 looked fairly long in the tooth. Jailbreaking the iPad with 13.5 was fun, and did develop a workflow to match the Hackintosh. However I found using Screens to remote back to the laptop/desktop more useful than the slow drudgery of UTM running Windows 7 locally on the iPad. Working with iPadOS 14 is a nice taste of what we can expect from Apple over the next few years. The move to Apple Silica on the Mac will be awesome, and as Intel does not plan to move to 7mm for another 2 years or so, users of the Mac platform in Hackintosh form may find more reasons to once again buy Apple hardware. The iPad is definitely a “computer” when matched with the keyboard, and no matter if you jailbreak or not, this setup is enticement to buy a second generation ARM based Mac. Very exciting times to “think different”.
