The only additions are the 970 EVO (I have windows on my 960 EVO) and added 32GB of RAM. Followed the guide here: https://dortania.github.io/OpenCore-Desktop-Guide/. Pretty much stuck to the guide to a T and it worked perfectly. I tried it a couple of weeks ago, but had too many distractions and messed it up. This time I set aside 5-6 hours to focus on following along. Booted perfectly, no issues whatsoever. Handoff, iMessage are working perfectly. Hardware acceleration w/ iGPU working as well. Made a Carbon Copy Clone to a spare SSD, and moved the EFI there as well in case I ever break this. I built a few Clover builds in the past and there was always some quirk here or there, but this one just works! I had a perfect Clover build a year ago, but while i was out of town one weekend my wife accepted an update on it and broke it. Have been using Windows since then but itching to get a decent Hackintosh up and running again. As well as this OpenCore hack went, i'm considering building a specced out Comet Lake that I can get a good 5+ years out of until the Intel chips are gone (if/when that happens). I'll post that build as well if I do it. [link] [comments] |
