Case: Fractal Meshy C Install went pretty smooth, no hiccups I followed a video from Technollis YouTube channel and used OpenCore 0.5.9. Things Learned / Issues: After the initial installation I ran GeekBench and found the scores to be lacking, don't quote me on the exact number but it was in the high 6000 range. I loaded the 5Ghz overclock in bios and the score jumped to 8700. I tried to overclock the RAM which failed, this caused the system to boot straight into bios and not see the ssd, I had to boot from my usb stick for a couple days till I figured it out. One of the side effects of this was the serial number got reset and as a result my apple ID was banned. It's OK I used a throw away just in case something like this ever happend. The fix was to reset the NVRAM from the boot options. After installing the Fenvi T919 card wifi worked out of the box but bluetooth did not, I tried a few things but the one that actually worked for me was to change the header I was plugged into on the motherboard. How have things been: I have been using this build for a month everyday. I am a software engineer, and do web development as well as App development. Android Studio and Xcode both work with no problem and compile times are much better. I was coming from a 2018 MacPro 15" and found it was struggling with App development. The only thing you need to keep in mind is V-Tx needs to be turn on in bios if you are going to use the built in emulators for Android. If you use your physical device you don't need to worry about it. [link] [comments] |
